SIWIBA 10th Anniversary Celebrations

The Solomon Islands Women in Business Association (SIWIBA) will celebrate its 10th anniversary next week.

This will coincide with the bi-monthly SIWIBA Mere’s Market for the month of February.

To celebrate the 10 years journey, the SIWIBA Secretariat has arranged an extra two days for Mere’s Market, which starts next week Monday 23rd February 2015 and all activities continue until Friday 27th February 2015.

SIWIBA to Launch Website

The Solomon Islands Women in Business Association (SIWIBA) will launch its website today.

SIWIBA Coordinator, Nina Tuhaika, said the website launch will coincide with the SIWIBA 10th anniversary.

The website is sponsored by Japan International Cooperation Agency – JICA IN Honiara and a representative of the office will be present to officially launch the website.

ANZ Donates $5,000 to SIWIBA

The ANZ bank donates $5,000 towards the Solomon Islands Women in Business 10th Anniversary yesterday at the ANZ Office, Point Cruz.

The handover of the donation was presented to SIWIBA by the ANZ Customer Advocate & CEO Support, Nora Makini to SIWIBA President, Dalcy Tekulu.

SIWIBA Gears Up for 10th Anniversary

The Solomon Islands Women in Business Association (SIWIBA) group is gearing up for its 10th anniversary celebration at the end of this month.

SIWIBA Coordinator, Nina Tuhaika, said the event is held to commemorate the journey of the association and the achievement over the 10 years through determination to fulfill the aims and objectives of SIWIBA.

Final Mere's Market for 2014

As the final Mere’s Market for the year, the December event was the longest, lasting for five days from the 4th to the 8th of December.

The opening coincided with World Vision’s 16 days Activism Campaign on Gender Based Violence and the campaign theme “From peace in our homes to peace in the world” was highlighted during the market’s launch.

The theme was an addition to the market’s festive one, which was “Appreciating women’s role in our society in this Christmas season”.

World Vision’s participation helped attract new visitors to the market as the women’s creativity was again put on show.

A lot of the products on offer stuck to the recycling theme and included a range of ladies accessories made mostly from recycled tin cans.

Buyers were also fascinated by the clothing range on offer and their reasonable prices made selling them not that difficult.
