SIWIBA Undergoes Cooking Training

The Solomon Islands Women in Business Association will undergo a five days cooking training facilitated by EJAYS Cooking Training Services at Lau valley, East Honiara.

This training targets SIWIBA members who are engaged in food catering services as a form of business, this training which started yesterday Monday 11 April will continue on throughout the week.

Speaking during a small formal opening of the training, SIWIBA board member Mrs. Ethel Saelea, encouraged the women participants to utilize the skills they will learn throughout the week. Mrs. Ethel Saelea adds that the skills that they will gain is an investment to share and developed more on when completing this five days training.

In response to the Mrs. Saelea’s remarks, training facilitator Mrs. Ellen Daloafu stated that   other skills recommends specific timing to apply, however cooking skills is applicable every day, reasoning why cooking skills is very important for every households and mothers”. Mrs. Daloafu adds “when cooking for domestic or economic purposes it is important to consider, hygiene, health and so as budget.”

Mrs. Daloafu who facilitated the introduction of the training, express that this five days training will cover 27 topics.

The practical sessions of the training is facilitated by Mr. Jay Daloafu who spent almost 30 years of service in cooking.
