SIWIBA Gears Up for 10th Anniversary
The Solomon Islands Women in Business Association (SIWIBA) group is gearing up for its 10th anniversary celebration at the end of this month.
SIWIBA Coordinator, Nina Tuhaika, said the event is held to commemorate the journey of the association and the achievement over the 10 years through determination to fulfill the aims and objectives of SIWIBA.
Ms. Tuhaika said three days or organized activities have been planned including the usual display of products by members of the association.
“Women will be able to showcase their skilled work as has always been during the past Mere’s Market events.”
She said that the event will start on the 28th to 30th January.
She said the public will have the opportunity to learn more about the work of SIWIBA and its members during the programs.
Ms. Tuhaika said many people perceived SIWIBA as just about organizing the Mere’s Market but “there is more to SIWIBA”.
This includes opportunity to network both in country and abroad, capacity building through training and promotion of women’s issues in the society.
The 10th anniversary celebrations will kick off with a parade from the Honiara Central Market to the Art Gallery where the official program will take place.
